The Hard Part

Well, I signed up for my first 100-miler – the VT100 in July. I still have to qualify by running a 50 miler under 12 hours, but that should not be too hard. As I was signing up and spending a decent bit of money, I started to get a little nervous – like wait all day in line for concert tickets and not knowing whether they would be sold out by the time you got to the window – or like someone else put it: like getting pulled over and not knowing how fast you were going.

If this is the way I feel just signing up, I can only imagine what it is going to be like toeing that line in July. At least there is a lot of time to train…

  1. Dude, I’m sure you’ll feel way less nervous (though still with the “normal” amount of anxiety and nerves) once you’ve got the training in! A 100 miler?! Badass!
